New €500,000 Competitive Start Fund for Graduates from Enterprise Ireland to Support Start Up Businesses
A new Ã¢ÂÂ¬500,000 Enterprise Ireland Competitive Start Fund targeted at stimulating new start-up business activity for graduates has been launched. This fund will provide for up to Ã¢ÂÂ¬50,000 in support for each successful applicant. The fund will open for applications on Wednesday 9th July and closes at 3pm on Wednesday 23rd July 2014. Applicants must have graduated with a FETAC NFQ level 8 qualification in the last 3 years.
The Minister of State for Small Business, Mr John Perry TD, today launched Enterprise Irelandâs first peer-to-peer online networking platform for female-led companies. The new online initiative will support female entrepreneurs by facilitating greater communication and connectivity between the growing number of female entrepreneurs supported by Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through Enterprise Ireland, helping them exploit opportunities to grow their businesses in Ireland and in international markets.
The Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD has welcomed the publication of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) Report for Ireland for 2013. The report shows that 32,000 people started new businesses in Ireland in 2013, and that one in eleven of the adult population are engaged in some form of early stage entrepreneurial activity.
Enterprise Ireland have announced details of Access Silicon Valley - an Enterprise Ireland initiative designed to fast-track early-stage Irish tech companies who are targeting Silicon Valley and San Francisco â the leading start-up ecosystem for high-tech innovation and development in the world. The programme will start in September 2013. Using Enterprise Irelandâs significant industry contacts in San Francisco, the objective of Access Silicon Valley is to accelerate innovative Irish tech companiesâ entry to the US market.
