Importance Of Sustaining Ireland’s Momentum On The Digital Agenda To Boost Sustainable Jobs Highlighted

SFIMinister of State at the Department of Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation, with Special Responsibility for Small Business, Mr John Perry T.D., today highlighted the importance for Ireland Inc. of sustaining momentum in relation to the digital agenda. Addressing a special Science Foundation Ireland-hosted digital workshop attended by digital researchers and industry leaders, Minister Perry said: “In a relatively short space of time, Ireland has built up a very credible scientific research base here that is now internationally-recognised. A particular strategic strength lies in our ICT sector,  for which much of the research funding is provided through my Department via Science Foundation Ireland.”

€55million In New Initiatives Aimed At Commercialising R&D And Turning Good Ideas Into Great Businesses

Following the range of measures detailed in this week’s Jobs Initiative, the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton TD today  announced five major initiatives aimed at supporting innovation and high growth businesses. The announcements were made as part of speech to the Irish Internet Association’s annual conference, entitled “Open for Business”.

Global Buyers to Increase Green Demands on Irish Exporters

BearingPointIrish manufacturers must increasingly be able to measure and reduce their carbon footprint if they are to succeed on export markets, according to the latest BearingPoint Green Supply Chain Monitor 2010-11. The report finds that about two thirds of European companies surveyed consider green supply chain as a strategic priority now or in the short term.

IEDR Supports Getting Irish Business Online Campaign

Why.ieThe IE Domain Registry (IEDR), the managed registry for Ireland’s official internet address .ie, today announced its support for a new campaign called Getting Irish Business Online, a major initiative welcomed by Government and launched by An Taoiseach to encourage Irish companies online. The initiative will provide businesses with an easy-to-use package on how to register and set up their first website using free customisable website templates, with advice on business e-mail set-up.

Jumping on the Green Wagon - Irish Companies Pursue Green Transport Opportunities

Enterprise IrelandEuropean thought leaders and experts in sustainable transport technology and infrastructure were in Dublin on the 5th May, 2011 to inform Irish companies about the opportunities for new technologies and partnerships arising in transport in the UK and Western Europe. The European Green Transport Conference was organised by Enterprise Ireland for Irish technology companies that supply or are interested in supplying the transport sector in the UK and Western Europe.
