The IE Domain Registry (IEDR), the managed registry for Ireland’s official internet address .ie, has launcheded OPTIMISE, a new e-commerce website development fund for Irish SMEs worth €100,000. The OPTIMISE fund is one of a number of initiatives to mark the tenth anniversary of the organisation which manages the .ie domain in the interests of the Irish internet community.
Energy entrepreneurs based at NovaUCD, the Innovation and Technology Transfer Centre at UCD, have won the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland’s (SEAI) inaugural Innovation Award announced recently at the SEAI Energy Show 2011. Mozilla Firefox 4, which was launched on Tuesday 22nd March, has already taken 1.95% of the worldwide Internet browser market according to StatCounter, the free website analytics company.
