Joint Programmes And Initiatives Aimed At Developing The Craft and Design Sector Announced

CraftsCouncilofIrelandThe Crafts Council of Ireland (CCoI) and the Network of County and City Enterprise Boards (CEBs),announced on the 27th March 2013 a number of key initiatives. Working in partnership, the two organisations will be rolling out a series of Continuing Professional Development workshops across the eight CEB regions which will focus on developing 'business skills’ in tandem with ‘design and product development skills’.  The workshops will provide essential training to develop the craft and design sector and utilise the expertise of both organisations.

120 New Business Start-ups Created Under New Frontiers Programme

enterprise irelandEnterprise Ireland announced today  that over 120 new business ventures have successfully completed the first Enterprise Ireland New Frontiers Programme. Based on the success of the first year of the programme, a further €12.65m is now being invested for the next three years of New Frontiers, which aims to develop sustainable businesses that will create jobs throughout the country. New Frontiers is Ireland’s national entrepreneur development programme that is delivered at a local level by the Institutes of Technology.

1,600 New Jobs To Be Created In High Potential Start-ups Backed By Enterprise Ireland In 2012

Enterprise IrelandThe Minister for Small Business John Perry T.D., today opened the Enterprise Ireland High Potential Start Ups Showcase, featuring the 97 new start-up companies supported by Government through Enterprise Ireland in 2012. Together these companies aim to employ over 1,600 new staff and to generate over €300m in annual sales.These companies come from a wide range of sectors including key areas that the Government has targeted for growth, including financial services, ICT, games, pharmaceuticals and medical devices.

£1.3m/ €1.5m Funding Available To Cross-border Business Partnerships

intertradeirelandInterTradeIreland has announced that it has a further £1.3 million / €1.5m in funding available for businesses in 2013 through the Innova programme for North/South collaborative innovation partnerships to develop new products, process or service development. InterTradeIreland is calling on local businesses with an innovative idea and strong commercial potential, who have already found a strategic partner in the South to apply for Innova funding. Companies that take part in Innova can benefit from pooling their expertise and resources to bring their innovations to market faster than if working alone.
