Until Christmas Eve, THE DESIGN CORNER on George's Street in Dún Laoghaire will be home to the work of twenty-two craftspeople and designers from the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown region, giving the local creative sector a welcome boost. Park House on George's Street in Dún Laoghaire, opposite the entrance to People's Park, is where the THE DESIGN CORNER will be opening its doors to the public every day between now and December 24th.
Organised by the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Enterprise Board to support the local craft and design industry, thousands of shoppers are expected to flock to the new store over the next three weeks.
Visitors to the store will be able to browse and buy work from over twenty designers and craftspeoples such as Fiona Snow from Snow (lighting and decorations), John Condron from Fado (Jewellery), Jenny Toland from HotHead (Children's Knitwear) Cathy White (Vintage Handbags) and Tara Hammond from Slated (gifts and homeware made with slate).
The Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Enterprise Board is encouraging shoppers to buy local Irish craft this Christmas. Georgina Sweetnam, Assistant CEO of the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Enterprise Board, said: "THE DESIGN CORNER is a unique collaboration between state support agencies and the craft sector, giving the public a perfect opportunity to buy Irish craft and design directly from the makers this Christmas."
THE DESIGN CORNER is open from 10am to 6pm from Mondays to Saturdays and from 11am to 6pm on Sundays, up until December 24th.
