JUMP START 2010 is a competition open to entrepreneurs who want to base their business in an innovative and supportive environment during their first three years of the development of the business. The LINC will provide an incubation space for twelve months and 5 days of dedicated mentoring from industry experts to the winning company. The value of this award is €20,000.
Applications must meet the following criteria:
The business must be technology or knowledge-based – competitive advantage could be due to the existence of intellectual property.
There is an intent to export if they are not already exporting
The business plan includes substantial growth strengthening the economic impact of the business within the region.The Applicant must be in business for less than 2 years.
The LINC will provide to the winning company:
An incubation space of 23sqm for twelve months
Included in this space will be desks and chairs for two people
Electricity and heating bills
Free WiFi access within the building and their office
Free use of the boardroom with teas and coffees for four meetings during the year
5 days of dedicated mentoring from a panel of key mentors in the areas of:
Digital Marketing – Ian Cleary, Razorcoast
Sales – Gerry Moan – Constructive Intervention
Market Research – Denise Doran – Marketing on Demand
Business Strategy – Brian O’Kane – Oak Tree Press
Finance and Funding – Gerry Delaney – Delaney Financial Consulting
Intellectual property – Cathal Lane – Tomkins
3 full days of business mentoring will be provided by Fingal County Enterprise Board
The successful company will also have access to:
A structured approach to the development of their business through the “Create, Learn, Grow” programme
Mentoring on key aspects of business development
Industry specific seminars to support innovation and development for the companies
Access to the academic expertise of the Institute
A cohort of students for placements and possible recruitment
Access to the facilities in the building including meeting rooms, training rooms and computer labs.

Based at the Institute of Technology in Blanchardstown the LINC Centre provides industry standard office facilities to start-up businesses. Entrepreneurs looking to locate in the LINC will be offered a range of business development supports including access to R& D facilities, business training, consultancy and mentoring and a high level of ICT Infrastructure as well as the incubation facilities and access to the enterprise support programs. The incubation facilities available range from a single desk space to office space ranging in size from 23 sqm to 60sqm. The LINC Centre at ITB also has research facilities, networking facilities and a coffee dock within it for use by the clients.
