Supporting Women Entrepreneurs Mentoring and Business Seminar is now open for registration. The event, launched by Hildegard Naughton, will take place In the Salthill Hotel on the 14th September 2012 from 11.30pm to 5.00pm. This is a new initiative between the Galway Chamber of Commerce and BPW Galway (Business and Professional Women of Galway). It is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in setting up a business or just in the early stages of development to meet with experts in their field who will provide them with good advice and get them thinking.
Ballina business woman, Tracey Glacken, accountant and owner of Glackens Accountants and Auditors will mentor at the Business and Mentoring Seminar in Galway. Tracey, who has also been appointed a EU Female Entrepreneurship Ambassador is involved in a two-year EU Commission programme to mentor two local start-up businesses.
She said: “Over the past number of years I have developed my keen interest in training and mentoring small businesses/start ups. The event in Galway is an excellent opportunity for budding female entrepreneurs to meet with the mentors on one to one basis and receive some very valuable advice.”
Tracey will be joined by Westport-based owner of Irish Business Intelligence and Secretary of Network Ireland, Olwen Dawe. Olwen will be facilitating the afternoon panel discussions entitled “Supporting Female Entrepreneurship in Europe” and featuring a wide-range of speakers, including representation from the European Commission, BPW, the Women’s Organisation UK and Swedish Entrepreneurship.
The event will include a key-note address from leading Irish female entrepreneur, Colette Twomey, Managing Director of Clonakilty Black Pudding. Jill Hincks of Passion for Creative will deliver a workshop on how to grow your business brand. Mentoring clinics on the day will offer expert mentoring to start-up women entrepreneurs, to help them keep their new businesses going during their first, very challenging years.
It will also be an excellent networking opportunity for business women in the region.Applications and mentor biographies are now live on Galway Chamber website: www.galwaychamber.com .
The deadline for applications is 30th August 2012. Places for the mentoring programme will be on a first come, first served basis. The cost for the event is €30 which includes lunch (followed by key note speaker) and entrance into the workshops and/or mentoring sessions.
