As the recession continues to make a hole in everyone's pockets, Irish people are increasingly going online to seek better value deals. Figures recently released by Ireland Metrix, Ireland's premier independent Internet Audience Measurement (IAM) service, support this trend and indicate that over two million people are visiting DoneDeal each month. The company has experienced significant growth over the last year with almost 150,000 adverts now active on the site at any one time.
75,000 new items are advertised on the site each month and the cash amount for items sold on the website in March alone came to a total of over €76 million.
Fred Karlsson, co-founder of DoneDeal, said: "We have been overwhelmed by the very positive response we are getting from the DoneDeal website. Today's figures mark another significant milestone for the business as we report a doubling of our monthly unique visitors compared to this time last year. This growth rate is indicative of the popularity of the website as people seek an easy and safe channel to trade their second hand items and get the best value for their money."
This growth rate is reflected with large increases all over Ireland compared to this time last year.

● Limerick - the number of visitors to DoneDeal has increased by close to 190%
● Dublin - the number of visitors to DoneDeal has increased by over 175%
● Kerry - the number of visitors to DoneDeal has increased by 515%
In its efforts to improve the user experience on the site, DoneDeal has made a number of new site enhancements. On the Home Page the most recently placed adverts are now placed on the top of the listings section. The new design also makes finding the section you are looking for a lot easier with a new tab on the left-hand side of the Home Page where you can browse over 120 sections!
Another recent improvement DoneDeal has undertaken is a new car search feature. You can now search for your next car by both make and model. Just start typing in the new make and model boxes and a list of choices will appear.
In addition to the new and improved Motor section, other dedicated categories include Animals, Farming, House & Home, Wedding, Sport, Holidays & Tickets, Electronics, Fashion & Health, Property, Music & Education, Business, Other and a Lost & Found section. Within each section, DoneDeal has also introduced further sub-sections to ensure users can source exactly what they are looking for in a more timely fashion.
