FireEye, the leading provider of software protection against web and email next-generation security threats, announced that it will establish its EMEA technical support centre in Cork, with the expectation of creating approximately 150 new jobs. The investment is supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland.
Entrepreneurship and Innovation take centre stage each year with a weeklong series of events taking place at Cork Institute of Technology (CIT), across its five campus locations, including Blackrock Castle Observatory. In 2012, 18 special events were organised as part of Innovation Week with over 1,000 attendees at the various events. There are events all week from the 4th to the 8th March 2013.
Cork Chamber elected Mr John Mullins as President at the Chamber’s 192nd Annual General Meeting, held on the 9th May 2011 at the Imperial Hotel. Cork Chamber is the leading business organisation in Cork supporting and representing the interests of approximately 1,000 member businesses who employ 80,000 people in the region.
The North Cork Enterprise Board in Partnership with Cork County Council will hold a seminar on Public Procurement in the Mallow GAA Complex on Tuesday 12th July. A Business Seminar in Mallow on Tuesday 12th July 2011 will explain to potential contractors and business people how to tap into the massive national and local e-tendering process. However there will be a special focus on those who may have been slow to tender, up to now, because they were unfamiliar with the ‘how to’.
As part of the Entrepreneur Experience® CorkBIC has launched the Entrepreneur Hall of Fame®. CorkBIC wants to recognise successful Entrepreneurs who have a vision to succeed and a passion to assist others. This is an elite group of men and women who have been recognised for their exceptional entrepreneurial achievements. The first Entrepreneur will be inducted at the Entrepreneur Experience dinner on April 8th in Garryvoe Hotel, Co. Cork.
