LYIT programmes are highly employment-focused with the majority of courses developed in collaboration with industry and professional bodies, in new and rapidly expanding sectors. In just 2 years the college has introduced 16 new CAO programmes and a variety of options to go on to study further with add-on Level 8, Postgraduate, Higher Diploma and Masters programmes. Just one of the reasons why the college has seen a 16% increase in student numbers since 2011.

The CÉIM (Commercialising Entrepreneurial Ideas and Management Development) programme 2011 is once again inviting applications from people who wish to commercialise their knowledge or technology idea and take it to the next stage. The programme begins in June 2011 and closing date for applications is 13 May 2011. It runs at the Letterkenny Institute of Technology (LYIT) and Institute of Technology, Sligo (IT Sligo) campuses.
Calling all Donegal Graduates! The Discovery Zone, due to start in April 2013, is an exciting new 12 week part-time programme designed to assist graduates who may find themselves at a time in their lives where they want to develop new ideas, start a new business or explore ways in which they can use their skills and talents to exploit a commercial opportunity.
The Donegal Women in Business Network will host its first cross-border networking event with Derry based Women in Enterprise in the first event of its Autumn schedule. Donegal native, Michelle O’Donnell, of Glasshammer Design is also a keynote speaker at the event which takes place on Tuesday 14th September in An Grianan Hotel, Burt. The event will provide an opportunity for members from both organisations to meet for the first time and to promote their businesses.
