The Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton TD has today announced that Payback Loyalty, the market leader in digital consumer engagement technology in Ireland, plans to double its workforce with the creation of 28 new jobs in Limerick's National Technology Park. The new jobs are part of a €2.5 million expansion programme by the company which has been supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, through Enterprise Ireland.
Minister for Finance, Michael Noonan T.D., today officially launched a new employment and boat building initiative for unemployed young people which is an initiative by Scouting Ireland with Limerick City Build. Over the next three years 48 trainees aged between 18-25 years of age will receive FETAC accredited skills training as they learn to build a fleet of 'Lelievlet' sailing boats to be used by Scouting Ireland in the development of water based scouting activities throughout Ireland.
Emutex Ltd., an embedded software solutions company based in Castletroy in Limerick, has announced the winner of a scholarship programme that was launched throughout Irelandâs Third Level institutions in late 2012. The Emutex Software Innovator of the Year Scholarship was launched to encourage people to take an interest in Engineering from a young age and to highlight what the company described as âa shortage of Computer Engineering and Science graduates throughout Irelandâ.
Unison Engineering Services has been named as Entrepreneur of the Year 2015 in the Limerick Final of the National Enterprise Awards at a ceremony in the Limerick Strand Hotel today. The Limerick City based supplier and servicer to the Irish dairy, food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries was one of five companies presented with awards by Cllr. Maria Byrne, Deputy Mayor of Limerick. The other Limerick Final category winners were Fusion Magazine (Best Service Business), Key Ingredients (Best New Start up), Electricity Exchange (Business with Best Development Potential) and Adare-based Aisling Maher (Innovation).
19 award-winning students, who beat off competition at the National Finals of the Student Enterprise Awards, have secured places at the first ever âWinnersâ Bootcampâ in the Nexus Innovation Centre at the University of Limerick this summer. The inaugural four day business bootcamp runs from 4th to 7th June and is sponsored by Ulster Bank. The group of teenagers will receive mentoring from experienced entrepreneurs, as well as critical feedback from peers and experts. Sessions range from advice on delivering a business pitch thatâs got the âWowâ factor to business development and teambuilding activity.
