US Global Software Company ACI Announce a Significant Expansion in its Irish Development Centre in Limerick
Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton, TD, today announced that ACI Worldwide Inc. (NASDAQ:ACIW) is to expand its Software Development Centre in Limerick with the creation of 60 new jobs. ACI Worldwide is a major vendor of software and services to the global payments industry. This investment is supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland.
A unique pilot scheme aimed at attracting new business to Limerick City Centre is being rolled out to County Limerick’s principal towns. Limerick City and County Councils say the Business and Retail Incentive Scheme, which sees qualifying businesses and retailers receive grant aid based on fit out , shop or office improvement costs subject to a maximum of 50% of the annual rates liability in the first year and 25% in the second year of operation. This scheme is now being made available in Kilmallock, Newcastle West and Rathkeale.
Limerick Institute of Technology has announced details of the 2011 Mid-West Business Showcase. This is the 5th year of the showcase which is being held on Thursday 20th October from10.30am – 7.30pm. The event is being hosted by Dell Ireland at its Limerick campus in Raheen Business Park. The Showcase, organised by LIT, is being held as part of Limerick Business Week 2011.
Christmas came early at Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT) on the 1st December when more than 200 students demonstrated their entrepreneurial skills to members of the local community, fellow students and staff from the College. The Christmas Market event at the Moylish Park Campus forms part of MarketLink Entrepreneur, a multidisciplinary careers, innovation and entrepreneurship programme for students at LIT.
The story of how one businesswoman grew her company's annual turnover to €4 million, having started from scratch, is one of the expected highlights of 'Enterprise Mid-West' in Limerick, which starts next Wednesday (October 19th). Limerick City and County plays host to three events next week, including a talk from Samantha Rathling of Expect Talent on Wednesday evening.
