'Who to talk to' about Food Tourism, On-Farm Enterprises and Retail Trends in Tipp on May 14th with @TomDoorley
Small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs in the food industry are gathering in Thurles on Tuesday, May 14th, for the second annual Ã¢ÂÂWho to talk toÃ¢ÂÂ expo. Organised by the North Tipperary County Development Board, the free afternoon event at the Thurles Chamber Enterprise Centre will be officially opened by well-known restaurant critic and journalist, Tom Doorley.
Trustwater has won the overall ‘Innovation of the Year’ Award at The Irish Times InterTradeIreland Innovation Awards 2013, which was held in Belfast for the first time on the 22nd March 2013. The Tipperary-based firm developed a unique system for bottling plants that dramatically reduces energy and water use. The winning entry took first place in the GreenTech Innovation category and went on to compete against the five other category winners to win the ‘Innovation of the Year’ award.
Half year figures for Clonmel Chamber’s export documentation service show that Clonmel companies are trading strongly despite the adverse economic climate. The Chamber has seen a 21% rise in figures for the first six months of 2012 compared to the first half of 2011.
Staff at Clonmel Chamber are working with the counterparts in the Chamber of Commerce in twinned town Reading to identify opportunities for Clonmel businesses in the south east of England. Chamber CEO Brian Cleary recently spent two days with the Chamber in Reading and held discussions with his counterpart in Thames Valley Chamber.
The Small Business Advice service, offered in County Tipperary by Clonmel Chamber, assisted twenty five local businesses in the last three months. The free mentoring service provides advice to companies through a network of qualified mentors. The Small Business Advice service was established in 2010 and is funded by Bord Gais.
