An angel investor or business angel  is an affluent individual who provides capital for a business start-up, usually in exchange for ownership equity. A small but increasing number of angel investors organize themselves into angel groups or angel networks to share research and pool their investment capital. In addition they contribute their know-how or experience in company management and  can offer valuable expertise and guidance.  Angels usually seek active participation in the company in which they invest.
